email me an image of your world map, and I'll gladly convert to white background and enlarge it into a PDF file like the one that I posted so you can make a large wall hanging version. :)

oooo nice! hehe So Carl, you are obviously the go to guy when it comes to map making, I was just wondering why you haven't thrown your lot in with a server and developed for them. I mean I know you have, to an extent, but I mean on a more permanent basis. It's just a curiosity thing. Anyway, Gonna make that order on Friday-Saturday. I'll be wanting the USB version :). I'm really interested in how you did some of the more intricate work and I'm hoping to be able to glean that info through digging around in your maps lol.

Actually I have worked with other shards in the past, it's just been such a long time, and I went by the names Imprint and Azuth way back then. I've been developing for, and helping UO EMU Server development teams as far back a TUS (which later along in it's development changed its name to Sphere which we all know it as now). I've also worked a bit with Ryan from RunUO, and they are currently using one of my maps on one of their RunUO Free Servers.

I also helped develop and run a Free Shard called: Revelwood which was owned and operated by "DataWolf". My wife "Astonna" and myself "Azuth" were GM's on that shard and DataWolf and myself did all the scripting for the shard. I also handled all the upgrades to the world itself (world development). Eventually my wife and I took over the server from DataWolf and continued running the world for a few years but things got too expensive to run on our own and we shutdown the shard. That was way back in 1998 - 2002. Around 2000 I got heavy into the map designing and learning anything and everything I could that pertained to creating and completing a custom fully functional UO replacement world. Now 15 years later, I find much more satisfaction and enjoyment in creating and polishing new worlds for others to provide to the public to enjoy than I do actually playing the game.

Around 2004 I partnered with another Server Admin "GM Draugr" and we co-developed the 1st Sosaria 100% Completed World and his intent was to run a UO3 style free shard using the UO3 world we created. However due to some unforeseen things that happened we were not able to get the shard built and running, but I didn't want all that work put into the map to go to waste and decided to offer it to others so that it would live on and be enjoyed by others. I've since sunk another 1000+ hours of development time upgrading that world to the Enhanced Sosaria 100% Completed World which really brings the world to life and uses everything I've learned over the years.

Lastly 2013 I helped create a custom GUI for the Unique Lands UO Shard that they are running to this day. I've worked with the Admin "Lord Velius" and even played on their shard for a time, but I keep falling back to development as that is where my passion lies.

I do have my own development server that runs 24/7 here at my place for me to login and test any new worlds as well as another that is running a playable shard using my Enhanced Sosaria world which I login and play on from time to time. So there's my story that brings me to where I am today. ;)

What is it with us world builders that seem to fall back to just playing on our shards with no one else on?

LOL, cause ours are always better than most that are out there so we play where we are comfortable ;)
That and I never seem to get my character trained enough to really play it cause I'm always developing something. hehe
