    Without a doubt. CentrED is definitely the way to go when you are building/editing structures and areas within your world. It is the fastest and offers the most features of any editor out there today. Everything you add is written straight into the MUL files in real-time, can have multiple developers login and develop at the same time. Works and looks exactly like you are in-game while you build/edit your structures and areas. I use it to do all my development, and highly recommend.

    I can not for the life of me get this working. I followed the direction to a T and I can't seem to get it to do anything other then cycle connect.

    Looks like you are trying to use CentrED with the RunUO EMU server. CentrED is a stand alone development tool you don't use RunUO with it. In the main CentrED folder there is the server EXE for CentrED you run that and then there is another folder within that folder that has the client EXE file that you run to connect to the CentrED server.

    Great information and the video tutorial is perfect. Had no problem installing and setting up the newest version. I was using CentrED 0.63, but now I'm all setup with your upgraded version of CentrED+. Thanks so much!

    When I go to connect it to the centered+ it starts to load and gets to a point where error box comes up and says cannot create empty directory? not sure what the fix is or what im doing wrong.. I got the cedserver to initialize. Wondering if the client version for UO is causing the issue.. Im running 7.0.41.1?

    Did you unpack the .uop files to .mul format?

    Ok, good. So you said the server initializes and runs correctly? You have the same files (art, light, hues etc etc) for the server, as well as the client?

    aye the cedserver initializes and I try to connect CentrED+ I use my port 2593 and 127.0.0.1, I made sure the files in lower left corner are correct, hit connect it starts running gets halfway through and says cannot create empty directory I hit ok and then it loads for second and says forced closure by host... something similar to that

    Hrm. I've never encountered the "create empty directory" error. You might want to create a profile and post here: http://board.uoquint.ru/. StaticZ is much more apt to see it and reply with a solution.

    Well 1st off, make sure your not actually running the UO Client 7.0.41.1 and trying to connect with it... you don't use the UO Client, you have to use the CentrED client "CentrED.exe" that is what connects to the "CEDServer.exe" server. Also once you run the "CentrED.exe" you will see at the bottom a section called "Data Files" you must click the file folder and select where those files listed above are located, usually in your Ultima Online game folder. There is a How To: setup CentrED on the forum here I believe as well if you need set by step instructions on what to do. :)

    I have done all that and followed the steps from the video Hank added. I have deleted all three times reinstalled, reloaded all info. I used CentrED.exe to connect to the cedserver and I have made sure the data files correspond with those of my server(ROA). It all initialized and the CentrED+ starts loading its files and then error box says cannot create an empty directory... I have it all written down as well and followed it to the letter...The only thing I haven't done is set the datafiles of Classic Client itself.. is that what your saying.. don't use my server data files

    It's really hard to say without seeing how you have things setup on your system. I personal don't use any of the files in my Ultima Online game directory. I have installed the CentrED 0.6.3 Server into it's own folder on my D:\CentrED. All of the server files are located in this folder.

    Then I have actually copied all of the .MUL files needed (ones asked for by the CentrED client under the Data Files section) from my Ultima Online folder and pasted them right into my D:\CentrED folder where the server is located. If you do this type of setup then you need to make changes to the "cedserver.ini" and change the folder structure indicated in there to point where you have the .MUL files you want the server to use. Also in the "cedserver.xml you will need to make sure you have the proper mapsize info as the Grayworld map is 6144x4096 in size.

    Find the;

    <Width>896</Width>
    <Height>512</Height>

    and changed it to;

    <Width>768</Width>
    <Height>512</Height>

    Lastly my CentrED.exe client files are located in D:\CentrED\CentrED and I have also copied the same .MUL files that I put in the server folder into the clients folder too.

    So the Server has it's own version of the maps .MUL files that I work on and those are the ones in D:\CentrED that actually get updated with all of the changes I make with the client. And the client has it's own version of the .MUL files need too but they don't get updated, only the Map0.mul, Statics0.mul and Satidx0.mul located in my server folder D:\CentrED are the ones that get updated with all of the changes I make to the map I'm working on.

    I have no clue why your having problems with the installation and setup, I've never seen that error, or had that happen so it's really hard to say unfortunately. :(

    I'm just curious but everyone keeps throwing around the word Centred... Are we talking about Centred+ like this thread is for? or are y'all talking about Centred? There are some differences and In my experience with helping people sometimes the same things don't apply to Centred+ for what ever reason, as they do for Centred. Or it could be the people I was trying to help who were using just centred had other mistakes they didn't realize.

    My video tutorial is for Centred+ and I cant in full faith say that it will match Centred because I've never been able to get regular Centred to work for me. Granted that was over a year ago that I tried it.

    What windows are you using?

    Do you have file ownership of the centred+ folder and directory where your uo files are located? right click folder > Properties > Security .. do you see your computer user name as having full control? (that's how to check on win 7)
