Wagons and carriages

    I did a bunch of carriages and wagons to set around the map. From a death to a wedding. Even Baby carriages and shopping carts. I did some generic wagons to place around and can be filled with whatever. Sorda gives the lived in look like people are busy getting supplies delivered. Dian said he would write me a script for a frozen horse to place in front :D

    Thanks. The wagons and all give the shard a feel as if the npcs actually work lol. I take my generic one and place it around and add different stuff to them to fit that area. I also did a covered wagon. I have broken down wagons out along roadways and in the woods, etc.
    The baby carriage comes in 4 different colors in 2 directions :)

    Im hoping later Dian can make them and the other small ones into storage containers :)

    These are impressive!

    Do you have N/S/E/W versions of these?

    They can be turned into actual smooth-moving vehicles if you use the smooth boat packets in a special way!
    You can use a multi ID that's one of the single-tile multi's, I believe there are a few to choose from, but since they are single-tile, you can use them as your vehicle's base and hide them with other tiles;
    As with stock boat's planks, tiller-man and hold, which are dynamic attachments, you can convert each piece of your add-on to an attachment for the multi.
    The smooth movement packet is basically just a synchronized effect packet that contains the multi and all dynamic components.
    It would be really nice to see these as more than deco, but they are pretty sweet as they are!

    I did not make all of them with all directions mainly because I plan to make many more different ones. That way you only see a couple of the same ones around the map. I could make some with all directions if someone wants them. I will get screenshots of the others up in a little while so you can see them all.

    Yeah, Zero over at ServUO had actually created the drivable wagon system, fairly well completed too actually. I posted it as an Idea, because I have too many things going on already, in hopes someone would like it enough too.. and he took off with it :)

    The script is over there in the Think Tank forum @ ServUO.com if you wana check it out. I think the only last little issue he had was how the character was handled when the wagon was in motion, with keeping the player on the seat properly or something like that.
    I kinda feel bad too, cause it was my idea and I really wasnt able to help contribute to it :-/

    You could have the player standing in the front like on a boat. They did not always have seats in the old days. :)

    Also too bad you can not hook a horse to the front of the moving one. I know Dian said he will get a script done for a frozen horse to place in front of the wagons I have to make them look real. But I wonder about having one on the front of the moving one. A horse that never moves unless the wagon is, you don't have to feed it, does not disappear, etc :)

    It would be cute for the RP people if you could walk behind the baby carriage and it move in front of you by double clicking it. LOL

    Then we would have to figure out a baby to put in it. You could use it as a storage item like a pack horse. :)

    Thanks for thinking of us. :p

    In any case. Why not just pull walking animations from regular horses in all directions (only need the same 4 the wagons will have), add them as Items, and set them as animated - think ballista/catapult wheels. Then when creating the Multi, as Vorspire suggested, you add those "pieces" of the Multi as animated attachments. Voila, horses that animate when the cart/wagon moves.

    You are talking to a non scripter here!! I have no idea how to do that. I sorda know what you are saying I just cant make it happen :)Maybe if Dian ever gets some extra time (around 2050) he can work on it :rolleyes:

    Couldn't you use that same idea to make custom houses that are placeable by players?
    Not sure if it would cause the same "issues" with item count since the items would be attached to the Multi, but as you've said before it shouldn't really matter.
